Games play an important role in education

BLOOM’S TAXONOMY

Based on the learning and gamification of games, this example of adding game elements can make students more curious to acquire knowledge. Through the introduction of a series of teaching environments such as goals, interaction, and competition through games, this model of increasing participation and motivation will increase the value of teaching. What I want to mention is a monopoly based on board games. My major is economics. It gave me new insights into the experience with games. Regardless of the dark history behind it, this game mentions financial management and can even be referenced to the real world of financial judgment and investment principles. First of all, Monopoly is helping people build social interactions on a more superficial level to promote interactive learning. Second, the reasonable allocation of assets and the application of savings will be linked to the business opportunities that students may face at this time or in the future. Third, play patiently and deal with the results of the game calmly. No one will know the outcome of the game just as we do not know our future. You must be serious and patient to be rewarded in life. In short, a board game like Monopoly should not be taken as a thorough education in finance and investment because it must have its flaws. However, it does have some valuable lessons to teach.

This video is interesting, and André Thomas outlines the effectiveness of game-based learning and resonates with students in the classroom. However, the conflict is whether the learning method of base and game is really suitable for everyone? This requires us to think and recall the original intention of gamification.
