Sketchnoting uses visual language, including graphics and text, to record the brain’s thinking process and refine knowledge points, effectively helping students to themes and summarizing connections. Sketchnoting is a visual thinking tool that expresses opinions more accurately and intuitively, helps us sort out our ideas, and improve our thinking ability and cognitive level. When listening to ideas, students reflect through abstract concepts, rather than just passively taking notes.
By simplifying, summarizing and sorting out the content of learning and involvement, we can streamline the main points that we are interested in and worth thinking about. Using fonts, colours, and graphics to better express logical knowledge points is also a way to improve your creativity. Sketchnoting can not only attract the attention of students but also improve students’ interest and change because of the constraints of students due to complex academics. This more vivid and flexible way of expression helps to improve the comprehension and memory of notes. For me, I think images are more attractive than text. The structured visual presentation will help me improve my memory. In the process of sketching, extra thinking and imagination can make my brain more flexible.
Tips: Sketchnoting is to quickly record the core information, and the key points should be effectively filtered. Use the basic structural framework to ensure clear logic.

Hi, Gavin, thank your for your sharing. The sketchnoting knowledge give me many benefit. I like use my IPad to make notes. There are a lot of application to aid learning. For example GoodNotes, margin notes, procreate and so on. I have to say the combination of visual and text is a great way to learn and help you remember and understand.

Hi Gavin,
Sketchnoting is always a difficult one for me. The reason is if I make it simple and neat, it will consume too much time. Sometimes, I cannot read my notes because I was in a hurry or the graph is too simple. After reading your post, I think sketchnoting is a useful strategy for recall the class content and review. It is great to read notes again and clear thoughts by sketching notes like a mind map.
Nice post! Thank you for sharing!
Have a nice day!
